Level 1


If what you want is a leisurely kayak down the pristine Shuswap River, this is the experience for you!

A slow, calm, relaxing day with a couple of peaceful stops at some beautiful local beaches on the river.

Slower paced and geared towards people wanting a more relaxed and less technical paddle.

Watch for Eagles soaring above you, look for fish, or keep your eyes on the grass which line the banks of this beautiful river for Deer and possibly even a Moose.

LEVEL 2


This paddle is for the more adventurous type.

Faster waters and sandy beaches are what this experience is all about.

We will wind down the river manoeuvring some faster moving water, guaranteed to make your blood pump a little, and have our choice of lunch spots, based on your groups wanted experience.

Lots of wildlife and birds along this stretch of the Shuswap River. Deer, Eagles, Osprey and Hawks are amoung the local dwellers.

Time spent enjoying your experience will dictate the length of your kayak experience. Most take approximately 5 - 6 hrs.

This level is available to all ages and levels of experience.

Location Overview


Long know by the local indigenous peoples as the Spallumcheen River, the name of this undulating watercourse, was changed to Shuswap River in 1907. It was a roadway for first, the Splatsin people and later for European settlers.

The river is within the unceded Secwepemc Territory where the Splatsin people reside. The Splatsin are the southernmost tribe of the Shuswap Nation, the largest Interior Salish speaking First Nation in Canada. Read the Splatsin story here:
